The London and Winchester Sketchbooks

Description

In 2013 and 2014 I lived near to Winchester and in 2015 I moved to Surrey. During these years I was able to explore both ancient cities. Both cities reveal evcidence of their past as well as carrying the paraphernalia of modern life. Winchester was an interesting mix: some structures date back to the period of Roman occupation and yet almost every century since that time has left its mark and contemporary buildings co-exist with older. I had less time in London and tended to focus on the major landmarks of the cities of London and westminster. Both cities are lived in and each in their different ways shoulder the past as well as the present.
